Experience
-
senior research officer (Sep, 2020
–Oct, 2023) at Kiit University, bhubaneswar
As a Senior Research Fellow at KIIT University, I worked on developing innovative treatments like Nano bioactive and Nano carriers for improving wound healing. My responsibilities included isolating and growing skin cells from mice, conducting experiments to study how these formulations help repair wounds, and understanding their effects at a cellular level. Additionally, I contributed to teaching B.Sc. and M.Sc. Biotechnology students, focusing on immunology, where I guided them in understanding fundamental and applied aspects of the immune system. Also I contributed to research that aims to create affordable, effective healthcare solutions and inspired students to explore innovative scientific approaches.
-
Research Officer (Jul, 2017
–Aug, 2020) at National Burns Centre Navi Mumbai
At the National Burns Center, I took on diverse responsibilities that highlighted my skills in research, teaching, training, and managing important projects. As the Skin Bank Incharge, I oversaw the collection, preservation, and use of donated skin for burn patients. I also trained nurses, doctors, and other medical staff in the processes of skin banking, ensuring that these lifesaving techniques were applied effectively and efficiently.
In research, I worked on projects aimed at improving treatments for burn patients. This included developing co-culture models of skin cells to study pigmentation issues in burn scars and creating a cost-effective skin substitute for patients who cannot afford expensive options. These projects were driven by a desire to make advanced treatments accessible to everyone, especially those in need.
I also focused on teaching and community outreach. I trained medical teams and organized awareness programs on skin donation and burn prevention, often collaborating with NGOs and other organizations. These experiences allowed me to combine hands-on clinical work with teaching and community service, ensuring that my work had a meaningful impact both in the lab and in the real world.
