I'm an effective art teacher who focuses on skills, topics, and dimensions within the subject that help students to think outside the box. I would enforce the rules of discipline in the class while granting students the liberty to experiment and express themselves freely within the given subject. I believe that art teachers should be a little more flexible than other subject teachers because strict regulations might occasionally damage artistic creativity. I think more inquiry, exploration, and self-expression are things that students should be doing. As a result, they will have command over a visual medium of expression.
I have taught both young children and adults. Teaching art that provokes thought and learning while still being enjoyable is what I enjoy doing. Designing art-related exercises that will help individuals express their innate creativity and talent as well as widen their artistic perspective.

Experience

  • Art Teacher (Aug, 2019Aug, 2021) at 02 years teaching experience at the Beaconhouse School System.
Enhancing creativity among students by teaching them artistic skills, helping them think outside the box, and encouraging them to have confidence to express themselves through visual language. As COVID was happening at the time, all classes were conducted online, so PowerPoints and verbal explanations were used for all demonstrations.
  • Lecturer (Aug, 2007Aug, 2008) at Hunerkada College of Visual and Performing Art
Helping thesis students with their final project by honing their concepts and skills for miniature painting.
Instructing third-year students in miniature painting techniques and teaching drawing to freshmen.
  • Visual Artist (Jan, 2006Present) at (Freelance) Artist
Art is a social and intellectual contribution for me in which I introduce a perspective of being while also challenging the status quo in a more engaging way through visual language. I believe it is my responsibility as an artist to reimagine, and reimagining gives me the ability to break moulds and re-examine norms.

Being South Asian, I have a deep appreciation for the art of my region, particularly miniature painting, which is why I studied this art form in my undergrad. I always tried to explore the medium from within, combining my personal vocabulary with the mannerisms of technique to reflect on the realities of the time. Such as by fusing it with other media and creating caricatured style portraits, rearranging traditional images to create a new political satirical narrative that reflects contemporaneity, making its paint application technique three-dimensional, and carving text from miniature painting books while leaving the images in their respective places in the illustration and creating a new superimposed narrative.
