Hello!

My name is Joseph Hill, and I am currently a school counselor at Jakarta Intercultural School (JIS). Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working as both an elementary school teacher and a counselor, which has given me a well-rounded perspective on supporting students' growth.

I grew up in San Diego, California, and since then, I've had the opportunity to live in several vibrant cities around the world, including San Francisco, New York City, Jakarta, Tokyo, and Shanghai. Traveling has been one of my greatest passions, and it’s helped me develop an open-minded approach to people, particularly when it comes to understanding the diverse ways in which students learn.

I believe in taking a holistic approach to education, where building trust with students comes first—before diving into the curriculum. Once that trust is established, students are better able to connect, explore, and engage in their learning journeys. Whether you're looking to work on English skills, social-emotional learning, or any other subject, I’m here to support you.
