In my school days, I was just an average student, attending class not for the marks but for the thrill of learning something new. Curiosity kept me going—an eagerness to uncover a fresh concept each day. When I reached the seventh standard at my ICSE school, coding entered my life for the very first time. It was a revelation; I felt a warmth I’d never felt before. By eighth grade, Java became my muse, enchanting me with its brain teasers and logic puzzles.
Then came ninth grade, where we had a choice between Computer Science and Environmental Science. My teacher doubted my choice; she thought coding might not be my cup of tea. But eventually, she let me in, and I was about to experience the beauty of code on a new level. I loved it and was good at it. Yet, as fate would have it, COVID struck, and my eagerly anticipated Java exam was canceled.
In higher secondary at Rosary's, my passion for coding found its next stage. I discovered joy in teaching, in helping classmates solve their doubts. Students began seeking me out for guidance, and more often than not, their questions found answers. My Computer Science teacher even considered me a jewel, someone destined to shine in the board exams. Though I may not have been the highest scorer, I was among the top, and some of my peers even attribute their success to the lessons I assisted them with.
One close friend would reach out hours before an exam, seeking clarity on last-minute doubts—not a struggling student, but one of the best. Yet, he came to me for answers; Not once, not twice but several times.
My love for this subject grew, and as it did, my grades rose alongside it.
You might wonder why I’m sharing all of this. It’s to show you that I wasn’t born the brightest student in the room. I was an average learner, lifted by a quiet determination and a love for code. If I could rise from the middle of the pack, I know I can help others do the same. I believe I can guide my students to approach even the most complex programming challenges with confidence and insight.
I'm just another student who'd be ready to clarify a doubt in the middle of the night and even few moments before an examination.
