Hi, I’m Chien-Rou, or you can also call me Krystal. I’m a student of National Taipei University majoring in Foreign languages and Applied Linguistics with Mandarin teaching micro degree, and I’m also an experienced English private tutor.

I like to teach languages with lively and engaging methods to increase students’ motivation to learn, using plenty of online resources and diverse materials, creating interactive learning environments, or I would bore myself too.;) While I would also give homework and tests for students to practice, ensuring the effectiveness of learning. With this method, one of my students got golden certificate in TOEIC exam from 650! As the result, this extremely effective method would also be using in Mandarin teaching.

In Mandarin teaching, I plan to use wealth of online resources from Taiwan Mandarin Educational Resources Center and Taiwan Center for Language Learning, and my own ppt slides, so that students don’t have to buy textbooks. Also, I will explore diverse materials for different purposes and contexts, catering to students’ needs and level, so that students can acquire genuine Chinese we native speakers using in every day life.

Most importantly, I’m not just your teacher but also your friend! Learning Mandarin with me is both fun and effective. I tailor lesson plans based on each student’s needs, ensuring everyone keeps progressing towards their goals!
