Hello! I am Teacher Clarisse. I have been teaching both online and face-to-face for 5 years now. I have a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education and have majored in English.
As a language teacher and learner, I understand that the thought of learning and acquiring speaking skills in a foreign language can be daunting, but having a teacher who can guide you and facilitate your journey can make a whole world of difference. Having taught kids from five years old to adult age, I am confident to say that I know the ways of teaching the English language, from the fundamentals like the sounds of English to technical writing and mastery of formal and conversational English.
Every age and level needs a different approach to learning a language successfully. Adding the various strengths and weaknesses an individual has, having a tailored approach is paramount. That is what I always make sure to do with every student I encounter. Experiencing being a classroom teacher with twenty+ students and a personal tutor, I have learned to balance and check my methods and activities to make sure they are well-suited to my students.
Nothing is more fulfilling and satisfying than witnessing the improvement and progress of my students' journey. I once taught a five-year-old child who was having a hard time with the alphabet and the sounds. After several months of guiding her, she read her first short story with me, and I couldn't help but shed tears of joy and pride. It is truly what makes teaching worthwhile. Those are the moments I look forward to in my chosen profession.
