I've been a teacher since 1996, and since then I've helped many students,from various ages, backgrounds and abilities, to communicate, read, and write profienctly in English as their second language. In addition I've also helped English students pass Afrikaans and vice versa.
Each lesson is tailor-made and designed to help the specific student during the session, I
make use of pictures, word cards and my whiteboard. It is an interactive session and students are welcome to ask me questions at any time. We start with the basics and move on to the more advanced parts. Regular feedback on your progress are also provided.
I believe that every person has the ability to learn, but everyone has a unique style. Positivity and self-confidence is key and after spending tutoring sessions with me you will experience the difference in your results. Should you be unable to attend the sessions in person we can arrange to have online lessons at times that is suitable to you. I'm fully bilingual. Afrikaans and English speaking students are welcome to contact me.

Experience

  • Private tutor (Sep, 2020–Present) at Self-employed, qualified teacher who's been tutoring 5 years now
    I teach children from all ages to speak, read and write in English. When they're anxious I provide professional counselling .
    I also help students to prepare for oral tests, prepared reading and exams. In addition I assist second language speakers to better understand English and to read and spell correctly by tutoring them.
  • Private tutor (Jun, 2020–Present) at Tutoring Solutions Pennington
    I tutor students of all ages to improve their reading, writing and speaking skills in English. My focus is on language as well as literature.
    Second language speakers are most welcome from beginners to university students. Before becoming a private tutor I taught in the public Schooling system for 24 years and achieved plasing result. .

    It depends on the student's language profiency and the amount of sessions they will need.
