I hold a BA in History from Bucknell University. Over the past 30 years, I have had the privilege of teaching English to students at various levels in both local and international settings. This has included experience with the Cambridge IGCSE and AS/A Level curricula, where I have guided students to develop critical thinking, effective communication, and analytical skills necessary for success in their exams and beyond.
In my previous role at Seoul National University, I worked closely with students from diverse cultural backgrounds, helping them enhance their language proficiency while fostering a global mindset. My teaching philosophy centers on creating a dynamic and inclusive classroom environment where students feel empowered to express themselves, explore different perspectives, and engage with real-world issues. I regularly integrate global studies into my lessons to encourage students to think critically about the world around them, in alignment with the Cambridge Global Perspectives framework.
I am particularly drawn to teaching due to its commitment to academic excellence and its emphasis on preparing students for a globalized world. I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to your mission by helping you achieve your fullest potential in both English language and global studies.
