The SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) is a globally recognized standardized test widely used for college admissions, primarily in the United States. It assesses students' readiness for higher education and evaluates skills essential for academic success. The test is divided into the following sections:
Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (EBRW):
Reading: Measures comprehension, reasoning, and analytical skills by asking students to interpret passages from literature, historical documents, social sciences, and sciences.
Writing and Language: Focuses on grammar, punctuation, vocabulary in context, and understanding the structure of written texts to improve clarity and coherence.
Math:
Covers arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and data analysis, with an emphasis on problem-solving, modeling, and using math concepts in real-world scenarios.
Divided into two parts: one that allows the use of a calculator and one that does not.
Optional Essay (Discontinued after 2021): Previously tested a student's ability to analyze and evaluate an argument presented in a passage.
As an SAT teacher, I guide students through a strategic preparation process, helping them master content, time management, and test-taking strategies. My teaching approach includes practice tests, personalized feedback, and focused lessons to target each student's weaknesses while building on their strengths, ensuring they achieve their highest potential on the SAT.
