As a Biology Teacher with 9 years of high school experience, I apply with enthusiasm for this role. I began my career as a Biology Teacher in Lebanon for 9 years to work as a Science Teacher for an international school. After completing my Master of Education (Biology), I joined simultaneously Lycée Emmanuel. Eastwood College (both located in Lebanon, Kafarchima), IBS (Kuwait) to work as Biology/ IB Biology - Chemistry Teacher. During my university studies, I had the opportunity to benefit from various courses based, on the one hand, on Biology, and on the other hand, on Chemistry. Particularly interested in immunology, I took advantage of my university years to deepen my knowledge in this field.
Teaching is my vocation. I bring my class to life by bringing it a daily dynamic. My mission is also to help them find their professional path through proven teaching techniques. I have always given the best of my abilities in this position and I always worked hard to make sure my performance stays rising. The increased responsibilities have helped me grow and evolve as a professional for which I am grateful. As an IB Biology teacher, I believe that professional development will give educators opportunities to develop a deeper understanding of what it means to be an excellent, internationally minded teacher. As well as the planning and delivery of high-quality teaching in physical and virtual settings, I am experienced in administering and evaluating assessments in preparation for examinations. I employ a range of traditional and progressive methodology, incorporating experiential learning opportunities, ATL skills whenever possible.
I see myself as an educator, not just a teacher. I encourage students to question their actions, the way that others live, and how we can use our knowledge to question the choices we make. I foster collaborations with school leadership and fellow teachers that promote a flexible, supportive, and dynamic learning environment. I am delighted by the 93% average pass rate that my classes achieve.
In addition to my experience and Master degree in Biochemistry, I successfully completed two workshops organized by the IB Online Professional Development department which were led by experienced practitioners of the lB. One of my biggest goals is to remove barriers to access so that all students who want an IB education can get one, and one of my biggest hopes is to create and strengthen ties between my school and our professional community to facilitate opportunities for my students.
