My philosophy is : Not every student is ready to learn a new concept the first time it is presented. I am patient and will explain each time a student requires a re-fresher. No question is silly; it is asked to gain understanding. I draw on student's existing knowledge to guide her/him to an understanding or an answer. I see my task often as getting students to overcome a fear of mathematics and over the hurdle of "I cannot do Mathematics". I use detailed examples explaining each step as we proceed. I then work through another example calling on the student to give the next step. Thereafter the student is given an exercise to work on and refer to me if necessary. I engage the student throughout the learning process. I employ basic tests to ascertain the grasp of the concept(s). A Test at the end of each topic which tests the principle and its application.
