Secondary History Teacher
Brief description
The position of high school teacher consists of instructing learners in public and private high school in
one or more subjects at the secondary levels
Tasks
 Adopt teaching methods and instructional methods to meet learners’ varying needs and
interests.
 Assign and grade class work and homework.
 Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among learners.
 Maintain accurate and complete learner records as required by laws, district policies and
administrative regulations.
 Prepare materials and classroom for class activities.
 Prepare, administer and grade tests and assignments to evaluate learners’ progress.
Qualifications and requirements
 A bachelor’s degree or equivalent;
 Ability to teach others how to do something and to select and use instructional methods
for the situation when learning or teaching new things;
 Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying.
