Spoken English Interactive Classes - Basic and Advanced - directed at improving writing, accurate summaries, reports and conversation abilities in English, building self-confidence, ethical practices, social skills and communication abilities with reference to a wide range of subjects, including natural history, conservation, geography, landscape, photography, living outdoors and survival, off-road driving, navigation and map reading, co-existence with the natural world, basic aviation knowledge and flight operations in airlines.

Student’s viewpoints and goals will be discussed, and a mutually pragmatic approach formulated for course study. His or her objectives, weaknesses and strengths will be focused on, catering to specific needs. Explanations can also be provided in Sinhala for student's unable to grasp an English expalnation.

For interested student’s, written English skills can also be incorporated.

Conversation and social abilities, and self-assurance will be developed to enable students to hold their own at any public forum and social event, by discussion of world and current affairs and other subject matter as required.

Polite and elegant use of language with correct pronunciation will be instilled.

Selected reading material, excerpts of books, video clips, documentaries and information will be shared.

Teacher – My background and experience has been with: -

1. Management of the Flight Operations Programme at Flight Operations Department of the National Carrier with a Commercial Pilots Licence & Instrument Rating and Flight Dispatcher Licence, covering a wide range of management applications for 15 years.

2. Photographic Studio & Book Publisher - leading outdoor photography expeditions (frequently to isolated deep jungle locations) with the objective of recording archeological sites, landscape and wildlife. Currently 25 years in the latter field. Contributions have been in the form of photography, special photographic assignments, writing, publication of books, contributer - (Eloquence in Stone - the lithic saga of Sri Lanka), exhibitions, lectures and presentations with significant knowledge of the outdoors and geography of the country.

3. Functioned as Hon. Director, Department of Wild Life Conservation (2007 – 2009).

4. Member, Fauna & Flora Advisory Committee, Ministry of Environment &
Natural Resources (2007 – 2009).

5. Building and managing a self-owned Retreat Bungalow & Property for the last 15 years in a village by a jungle and a world heritage site where wild elephant, sambhur and other wild life walk through the garden. This hands-on experience contributes to a cumulative knowledge of practical conservation in all forms.

    Initial assessment class of 1 hour at Rs 2800 (USD 10). Upon establishing level, requirements, and duration, fee structure will vary to a maximum Rs 18000 (USD 61).
