I believe that quality education is everyone's birthright. Quality to me, means the ability to use our knowledge in our day-to-day life and in making our community better/safer/inclusive. I will teach math in a way that will make us question the current ways of the world, critically analyse the current systems and make our understanding of mathematics and the functioning of the world better. I assign very immersive and interesting assignments which will make you interact with your neighbours, surroundings and communities. I teach through a laptop/video call, in case of financial conditions where students are from backgrounds which can make it difficult for them to access the internet or a phone, I may travel.

Subjects

  • Physics Grade 5-GCSE

  • Mathematics Grade 5-GCSE

Experience

  • Program manager (Jun, 2021Present) at Alokit
I spent 3 years training and coaching principals and teachers from Telangana Tribal and Social welfare residential schools about teaching foundational math and english. During this time I also understood and trained teachers and school principals to create a safe and inclusive space for children. The program didn't see any success in making the space safer for children, though it saw a minute success in foundational learning.
  • Teacher (May, 2019May, 2021) at TEACH FOR INDIA
I taught 120 children from classes 8-10 from underprivileged communities. I taught through projects that explore oppression and didn't just teach mathematics and physics as curriculum but as subjects connected to reality and the current world. I've given children interesting homework and my primary aim was to make my students learn the aspects of the subject that they will utilize in their lives while falling in love with the subjects itself. I was working very closely with the parents to also make the conditions for the children more condusive.

Education

  • B-tech mechanical engineering (Aug, 2013Apr, 2017) from St Martins Hyderabad

Fee details

    0.0800/hour (US$09.33/hour)

Just purely based on affordability and persons of interest. If people are below poverty line or have minority backgrounds, then I would like to take free classes. If not, based on the earnings, I would request people to pay as much as they can.
