Experienced Python programmer working with python since 2009. Have been teaching mathematics since my school days for younger grade students throughout to college. I tend to be coaching style teacher, asking questions that make you think about the problem, try to think about the steps involved in forming a solution. Prefer not to lecture, but to guide based on what the student seems to be stuck on and struggling with.
For abstract concepts, I tend to give a short abstract description and then go to a concrete example or a metaphor, where the concept can be applied and related to. Like to pick these examples from domains the student is familiar with. My teaching approach is always founded in the critical thinking/systemic thinking principles, hence it doesn't start by assuming previous knowledge. With my question approach I gauge the students' current level and build the syllabus and curriculum from there to get to the students' goal.
