I believe mathematics can be a really fun subject if taught in the correct manner.
I usually use visual cues and game based teaching for younger children. A good foundation is important and that would be my first step irrespective of the child’s age or ability.
I am not overly strict but always manage a good rapport with children - one that encourages and inspires good learning habits.
I always give my best to each child and will never over subscribe myself to the point of being stretched thin.
Reading and Mathematics are the building blocks of any education and very important to me. Above all else I absolutely enjoy teaching and that’s imperative.
If I cannot communicate a love for the subject I have not done my job well.

    In addition to helping the class teacher deliver the lesson, I was also in charge of taking out gross of 5-8 children of lower ability in mathematics and reading for additional support and instruction.

    Outside of school I tutored several children over the years in mathematics. Years 5 and 6.
