I am a dynamic and innovative mechanical engineering student with a passion for solving real-world problems and sharing knowledge. My academic and professional experiences have allowed me to excel not only as an engineer but also as an educator, demonstrating my ability to analyze, design, and teach with precision and creativity.

Engineering Expertise

As an Engineer, I have cultivated a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, excelling in areas such as energy systems, mechanics, and design optimization. My ability to approach complex challenges methodically has been enhanced by my proficiency in engineering tools like MATLAB, ANSYS, and Fusion 360. I take pride in translating theoretical concepts into practical solutions, ensuring that every project I undertake meets high standards of efficiency and innovation.

Passion for Teaching

In addition to my engineering pursuits, I have honed my skills as an educator by teaching Mathematics to Senior Secondary School students (SS1 to SS3) in my father’s school. This experience sharpened my ability to break down complex concepts into simpler, more relatable ideas, fostering an engaging learning environment. I worked closely with students, understanding their individual learning needs and helping them achieve remarkable improvements in their performance.

Leadership and Mentorship

My dual roles as an engineer and educator have strengthened my leadership and interpersonal skills. As the academic director of my department, I have organized tutorials, mentorship programs, and orientations to support my peers. This has enabled me to bridge the gap between technical expertise and effective communication, a skill I believe is vital for any engineer or teacher.

A Synergy of Skills

My engineering knowledge complements my teaching abilities, as both require critical thinking, adaptability, and a commitment to excellence. Whether designing innovative solutions or guiding students toward academic success, I approach each task with dedication and enthusiasm.

Experience

  • Teach Mathematics (Jun, 2019Jul, 2024) at His Banner Schools
Teaching is a noble profession that requires dedication, patience, and a deep understanding of the subject matter. My experience as a Mathematics teacher in my father’s school has helped me develop not only my teaching skills but also my ability to connect with students and guide them through challenging concepts.

I taught Mathematics to students in Senior Secondary School (SS1 to SS3), covering a wide range of topics such as algebra, geometry, calculus, and trigonometry. This role required me to be well-versed in the curriculum, ensuring that lessons were structured to meet the academic standards while remaining engaging and relatable to students. I made it a priority to simplify complex concepts, using real-life examples to enhance understanding.

One of my key strengths as a teacher was my ability to assess the individual needs of my students. I recognized that not all students learn at the same pace or in the same way. By providing extra coaching for students who struggled with certain topics and offering advanced challenges to those who excelled, I was able to create a balanced and inclusive learning environment.

Additionally, I adopted a student-centered approach in my teaching. I encouraged active participation by asking questions, organizing group discussions, and giving students opportunities to solve problems on the board. This not only boosted their confidence but also fostered critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

My competence as a teacher was also reflected in my students’ performance. Many of them showed remarkable improvement in their understanding and grades, particularly in their preparation for national and external examinations. I took pride in seeing my students excel, knowing that I had played a role in shaping their academic success.

Beyond academics, teaching Mathematics taught me the importance of discipline, consistency, and effective communication. These are skills that I continue to carry into other aspects of my life, reinforcing my belief that teaching is as much about personal growth as it is about imparting knowledge.
