Mohamed Samunn is an educational therapist working with children with specific learning differences and children with additional learning needs. He offers literacy, numeracy, and curriculum-based intervention and remediation lessons to kids of all ages. He is a learning experience designer and engages in designing learning pathways for each student to meet their learning needs so that they can achieve and excel.
Samunn has been an English Language teacher for 38 years teaching Cambridge O Level and IGCSE First and Second Language, and Edexcel curriculums in Sri Lanka and The Maldives. His career switch to special education in 2008 made him to become a senior educational therapist and a specialist tutor at the Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS) where he rendered his services to children and adults with special needs for 14 years until November 2022. Now, he has been offering his educational therapy services in Sri Lanka.
He holds a Masters degree in Specific Learning Differences (SpLD) from London Metropolitan University and is currently a PhD candidate at the University Technology of Malaysia (UTM) in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. His research is focused on the additional learning needs of SEN students in post-secondary settings.

I am an special dad and a educational therapist. An educational therapist is a special educator who works one-on-one or in smaller groups with children and adults with special / additional needs, typically outside of the school / workplace to teach them skills and strategies to help them excel. I design Aformal / informal learning pathways for my clients to meet their learning differences or additional learning needs in class and workplace.
I am an English Language teacher for 38 years - with 25 years overseas experience (11 years in the Maldives as a mainstream English language teacher and 14 years in Singapore as an educational therapist teaching kids with dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, autism and other SpLDs). And I returned to Sri Lanka in December 2022.I teach literacy, numeracy, English language for Cambridge O Level and IGCSE, Edexcel, and math and Singapore math up to O Levels. I do executive functioning skill training from primary students to teens.
I hold a master’s degree in Specific Learning Differences (SpLD) from London Metropolitan University and currently I am doing my PhD in University Technology Malaysia (UTM), Johor Bahru, Malaysia., researching the learning needs of SEN students in post-secondary settings.
