I have been teaching since 5 years both online as well as offline.
I always start from the basic and try to understand how the student wants to understand and work accordingly.
I try to communicate with the best possible way to make students understand what I am teaching. I always talk politely and go slow with the topics. Make them do the work in class as well as give homework so that they can revise whatever is done in class. To understand the basics of the topic is the major thing to make the student do
