I would describe myself as a qualified, adaptable and experienced teacher who has a genuine passion for teaching and helping students of all abilities to reach their full potential.

I have been fortunate enough to teach at a range of different secondary schools, teaching all year groups from year 7 to Sixth Form, focusing more recently on the delivery of the Key Stage 4 GCSE curriculum to small groups of children, and 1-2-1 with vulnerable students. I have been a Science teacher for over 15 years, teaching in both permanent and contracting rolls. My experiences of different schools has allowed me to build a teaching skill-set that allows me to deliver engaging lessons, whilst maintaining effective classroom management and achieving GCSE success.

  • Science Tutor (Feb, 2022–Present) at Connex Education, Derby
    My main responsibility is working one-to-one with vulnerable students. I deliver the science curriculum to them. I am able to deliver very personalised lessons based on how the student best learns. Working in close proximity with students has allowed me to develop excellent working relationships with the students I work with.
  • Science Tutor (Sep, 2021–Present) at Genius Tuition centre
    My current teaching role has focussed on preparing Key Stage 4 students for their upcoming GCSE exams. We cover the AQA syllabus, with an emphasis placed on exam preparation and techniques. We also supplement what the students are covering in school to further enhance their performance in school.

    Normanton House School caters for children from the age of 5 to 16. I was responsible for teaching Biology and Chemistry to the secondary students. I delivered the iGCSE Edexcel course to Key Stage 4 students, then moving on to GCSE Edexcel Combined and Triple course.

    Having worked at John Port School for over 7 years, I was fortunate enough to teach all year groups, from Key Stage 3 up to Key Stage 5, as well as having a form of my own. I taught all areas of the Science curriculum up to Key Stage 4, and also enjoyed the challenge of teaching within my specialism to Key Stage 5.

    for key stage 3 students (years 7-9) I charge £30, for GCSE students (year 10 and 11 students) I charge £35.
