Good day, First of all, I am juriemae Velez and I am here because, I am a compassionate, experienced, and adaptable tutor with a background in teaching diverse learners, which has prepared me to support non-native speakers in mastering English effectively. I graduated last year with a bachelor's degree in secondary education with a major in English. I formerly taught English, Filipino, and physical education subjects at a public high school. Aside from that, I volunteer to teach students who are struggling to read basic English words and sentences. From that experience, I gained two certificates, and I also have one from TEFL.
I enjoy breaking down complex concepts into simple, manageable steps and personalizing lessons to meet each student’s unique needs, ensuring that learning is both effective and engaging. Above all, I value patience because learning a new language takes time and practice. Creating a positive and encouraging environment, I help students build confidence and stay motivated throughout their journey. I’m excited about the opportunity to share my knowledge and contribute to the success of this company.

    Being both a tutor and a substitute teacher allows me to play two unique but equally valuable roles in education. As a tutor, I focus on providing personalized support to students, whether one-on-one or in small groups. My aim is to help them overcome challenges, grasp difficult concepts, and build confidence in their abilities, especially during exams. This role often takes place outside the classroom, where I can address learning gaps and reinforce important lessons at the student’s own pace. As a substitute teacher, I step in when the regular teacher is unavailable, ensuring lessons continue as planned. I manage the classroom, stick to the given plans, and create a positive learning environment, all while adapting to different subjects and student needs. Both roles require strong communication, adaptability, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed, which is what I love most about my work.
