Hi, I’m Maria!

I have eight years of tutoring experience and worked as a part-time teacher at tuition schools while pursuing my Bachelor’s in Sociology and Diploma in Health Sciences.

My teaching approach emphasizes a combination of structured preparation and practical application. I encourage students to complete readings prior to class to build a foundation of knowledge, followed by focused practice using past examination papers to enhance understanding and exam readiness.

I bring a rich multicultural perspective as a Filipino-Bruneian with diverse experiences across different countries. My academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Anthropology, a Diploma in Health Sciences from the University of Brunei Darussalam, and an intercultural communication course at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in South Korea. Currently, I’m based in Berlin, Germany, completing my Master’s thesis in Sociology, where I’m researching the unique factors that shape the affordability and availability of party drugs and their connection to Berlin’s vibrant nightlife scene.

Beyond academics, I’m a creative soul. I write poetry, enjoy analog photography, play the keyboard, currently learning the art of hand-poke tattooing and love collecting vinyl records.

What drives me is an insatiable curiosity and a passion for learning, paired with a deep desire to share knowledge and connect with people from all walks of life.
