Department: Elementary and Secondary Education Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching Responsibilities:
Deliver subject-specific instruction (English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, etc.) as per the curriculum prescribed by the KP Textbook Board and Directorate of Curriculum.
Develop lesson plans, schemes of work, and teaching resources to facilitate effective learning.
Conduct lectures and classroom activities that align with the learning objectives and needs of secondary-level students (grades 6 to 10).
Provide additional support to underperforming students through remedial classes and extra-curricular learning activities.
2. Assessment and Evaluation:
Prepare, administer, and evaluate assessments, tests, and exams to measure student performance.
Record, analyze, and report on student progress and achievements to parents and school administration.
3. Curriculum Development and Implementation:
Follow and implement the provincial education curriculum guidelines effectively.
Suggest improvements or innovations to the curriculum in collaboration with school leadership.
4. Classroom Management:
Maintain discipline, ensure a conducive learning environment, and promote positive student behavior.
Address and manage classroom challenges promptly and professionally.
5. Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and disciplinary actions.
Participate in school committees, staff meetings, and professional development workshops.
Collaborate with the school administration for planning co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
6. Professional Development:
Engage in professional growth activities like CPD (Continuing Professional Development) training programs and master training sessions.
Stay updated with modern teaching methodologies and subject knowledge advancements.
7. Community Engagement:
Establish a positive relationship with parents, guardians, and the local community.
Organize parent-teacher meetings and ensure effective communication regarding student progress.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in a relevant field; Master’s degree preferred.
Professional qualifications like B.Ed. or M.Ed. are highly desirable.
Age Limit: As prescribed by the KP Public Service Commission or Recruitment Authority.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong command of the subject area.
Proficiency in teaching methodologies and classroom management.
Communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to use technology and teaching aids effectively.
Experience: Prior teaching experience at the secondary school level is an advantage but not mandatory for fresh candidates.
Working Conditions:
Location: Public secondary schools in urban or rural areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Working Hours: Full-time, with flexibility for school activities or events.
Pay Scale: Basic Pay Scale (BPS-16) as per government regulations, along with allowances (house rent, medical, etc.).
