Hello there, I'm Maggie, your master storyteller, word wizard, and language aficionado. With over a decade of teaching and tutoring experience, I'm here to guide your child through the captivating realms of English Language and Literature.
My journey began with an Honors Degree in Communication, followed by a TEFL Masters Certificate. Along the way, I've trained in specialized areas such as IELTS and IGCSE assessments, ensuring that your child receives the best possible guidance in their academic pursuits.
Together, we'll navigate the vast oceans of AP Literature, Honors English, GCSE/IGCSE, and IELTS exam preparation. Whether it's polishing grammar and vocabulary gems or conquering the art of literary analysis, I'm ready to share my treasure trove of knowledge with my students.
As a tutor at Wall Street English and Shanghai New Epoch Bilingual School, I learned to weave technology into our learning tapestry, transforming virtual classrooms into interactive playgrounds.     Compile curriculum and conduct lessons to Gr 10 to Gr 12 students in Reading, Writing Literature and Critical Thinking Skills – building a range of skills to master English Literature.

    Conduct lessons to teenagers and adults in the four areas of language learning: Speaking, Writing (writing to a lesser degree in my current position), Reading, and Listening – building a range of skills to master English.
     To date, facilitated more 2700 lessons to small group classes assessing grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation skills
     Contribute to constructive feedback to program structure and management procedures
     Prepare lesson plans, and to date have planned and conducted more than 480 English Corner Group discussions, Complementary Grammar classes and Social Club (conversational) classes.
     Evaluate student via corporate assessment tools and personal interaction to keep students inspired and motivated.
     Conduct individualized tutoring for ESL students to help them overcome academic deficiencies and improve language skills.

    assignments, and hand-outs. Select appropriate instructional materials for instruction. Set targets for pupils.
     Evaluate the students’ work and assignments: Grade tests, essays, reports and other assignments. Regularly provide students and school management with feedback about student assessment.

Fee details

    R200–400/hour (US$10.58–21.16/hour)

    Lower level students with basic English I charge R200 because it will be more structured, but less complex.
    High level students with need for Academic English/ Business English or English Literature will be charged between R300 - 400 per hour because it is very specific, complex and result in deliverable test level.
