I am a teacher of English and literature, certified by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC). I teach English as a second language in secondary school across all forms. I have handled classes ranging from 30 to 72 learners. My duties involve preparation of teaching and learning materials, teaching English and literature, setting administering and marking exams, Guiding and counseling learners and preparing learners in music and drama competitions.
Having taught in three different schools, a sub county school, extra county and a private school, I have handled students from diversified social and cultural backgrounds. I foster peace and coexistence amongst my learners and encourage equality and appreciation of everyone's culture. At a team level, I have successfully worked with colleagues from different parts of the country.
My classes are learner centered, I let them interact with each other, I let them share their views and learn from one another through group discussions and enactment. I do guidance and counselling to learners both at an individual and group levels, understanding each individual's needs, as a teacher and a  parent. When it comes to teaching literature, I incorporate dramatization and storytelling. Set books have also played a big role in enhancing equality and cultural appreciation from all learners across the country. I love drama and music hence I prepare students for drama and music festivals competitions. Teaching is fun and self fulfilling to me, as I get an opportunity to impact knowledge and transform learners into better people while still learning new things from the same learners.
