Hi there, I'm Deborah Mogho, fondly known as Ms. Debra by the kids I teach. For the past 13 years, I’ve had the privilege of helping over 100 struggling readers transform into confident, fluent readers. Storytelling is my passion, and I love using it to engage and inspire children.
Every weekend, kids gather at the book club I launched two years ago, and my commitment to literacy also led me to establish the first children's library in my community, benefiting over 2,000 children.
As a Phonics teacher, I use a systematic approach to phonics instruction, ensuring every child is reached and no one is left behind. I tailor my lessons to suit each learner’s pace, using a mix of interactive activities, games, and visual aids to make learning fun and effective.
My teaching experience spans various cultures, including working with Indian students, where 98% of those I taught English were able to meet the required level for their TOEFL exams and were granted visas.
What makes me a great teacher is my dedication to each child’s journey. I believe in creating a supportive, engaging, and inclusive environment that empowers children to love learning. By combining structured lessons with creative techniques like storytelling and active participation, I ensure my students not only meet their academic goals but also develop a lifelong love for reading and learning.
