Having 26 years of teaching experience in the public and state sector, I have taught in many schools, on a permanent full-time basis, job-shares and supply teaching. This has allowed me to become a confident, flexible teacher who can adapt to many different environments. I understand the challenges schools may face and this is only something that you can encounter with a rich background of working in a variety of schools. I do not have a preference to a particular type of school as I feel that every child matters, regardless of their background, and they all deserve equal opportunities. I have been tutoring on a part-time basis throughout my teaching career. After many requests from parents of children I have taught, I decided to focus more on tutoring and over the last 2 years have expanded my availability to work with children online as well as face to face. Working with students on a one to one basis is hugely rewarding and wonderful to see their confidence develop. I specialise in tutoring children for exams at 11 plus, but also work with children who might be under-achieving and need further support in Maths and English. My calm, patient and professional mannerisms have always been commented on by clients and I have some students that I am still working with 2 years on as they enjoy my lessons and see the progress that they are making.
