Gopika is a sought-after Bharatanatyam performer, based in Chennai, who has been learning and performing for 20 years now. She is the disciple of Kalakshetra Dr. K Nirmala Nagarajan and has been praised for her exquisite abhinaya and crisp and joyful nritta. She has received many awards like the Gutty Vasu Memorial Prize for the Best Dancer and the Young Artists Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture, CCRT. A graded Doordarshan artist, Gopika is an exemplary teacher too. Having sound knowledge in not just Bharatanatyam but all it’s allied subjects like nattuvangam, music, talam, yoga and fitness and having learnt other Indian classical forms like Mohiniyattam, Kuchippudi and Kathakali from eminent gurus, Gopika strives to provide a well rounded learning environment to her students so that they are nurtured into appreciating the art form and becoming performers, teachers and rasikas, themselves.

The classes will be structured as per the students needs and goals. As theoretical knowledge about the art form as well as a good grasp on the Indian culture and mythology are essential, that will also be taught. Groups classes as well as individual classes are available.
