That went exactly the way I had planned it. Students often ask questions
that were not anticipated. Sometimes students’ questions lead to discussions of related topics. Expert teachers know when to allow these
sidetracks and when to keep to the topic at hand. Sometimes the most
relevant understanding comes from these conversations. This leads us
to the next attribute of an expert teacher.
