I am an ecologist and conservation biologist by training. I recently completed a PhD in Biology and am looking to serve as a tutor over the next few months before beginning a postdoctoral research appointment this winter. My research has allowed me to become proficient in multiple biology, environmental science, and statistics-related topics that are important for high school, undergraduate, and graduate students. In addition, my work has frequently involved geoanalysis and coding software such as ArcGIS and R, of which I am a fluent user of both. My research also makes use of advanced statistics including both information-theoretic and frequentist approaches, and I have completed eight total graduate level (and several additional undergraduate-level) courses related to all major branches of statistics (Bayesian, information-theoretic, and frequentist). In addition, I have played a lead role in advising undergraduate students completing independent research and class projects within my areas of expertise, making me well-qualified to serve as a mentor. Given my experience, I am comfortable providing tutoring services in ecology, conservation biology, coding in R, geographic information systems (e.g., ArcGIS), wildlife ecology, biostatistics, introductory statistics, biogeography, information-theoretic approaches, spatial ecology, biodiversity analyses, ecological modeling, species distribution modeling, phenology, bioinventory approaches, occupancy modeling, introductory ecology, community ecology, climate change ecology, introductory biology, and algebra.
