Asish Kumar DasAssociate Professor, Chemistry, organic chemistry

I believe in teaching Chemistry through interaction, understanding and logic, not through pressing memory... Many students suffer from a phobia regarding this subject simply because they are asked to memorize everything. They are most often not taught the reasoning and logic underlying chemical phenomena which may be done at all levels as per the intellectual ability of the student. An insufficient training leads to repulsion and fear and these, in turn, grow as the students ascends through his curricula. It is better if this can be controlled and rectified at an early stage.
