When I was a full time professor, I used to be known for my friendly approach, capacity to simplify social theories and discuss through examples. My student feedback had always remained very high with students often getting back to me for various reasons.
While these remain my specialties, I have specialised in qualitative methods, and a diverse range of theories concerning postcolonial, postmodern as well as traditional societies, gender and sexuality theories and indigenous societies. I am also very familiar and experienced in teaching sociology of education as well as sociology of media.
My main principle of teaching is empowerment of student through knowledge.
In my teaching I always draw connections from our everyday existence and different cultural and living styles. I can explore sociology both at the foundational levels of a beginner at the same time as touching its topmost layers - dealing with its intellectual heights. In other words, both its application and hardcore theoretical levels.
One of my greatest resources is history and I draw from documented and other historical discourses to tell students how the present social configurations are results of past engineering. I am a dedicated sociology scholar first and everything else is second. Thus you can expect my full cooperation in your efforts to learn sociology and its umpteen possibilities.
