I am a teacher very passionate about teaching English language and literature. I adopt story telling, roleplaying, pair and group discussion methods often. I enjoy teaching poetry and Shakespeare, making students concious of the use of literary devices and how they contribute to the understanding and enjoyment of a literary work.
A writing class begins with idea generation, selection and organization of ideas, brainstorming for the right register, an effective beginning and closure.
Grammar lessons are always taught linking with situations in which a particular structure or a tense form is used, giving amble examples first and focusing the attention of students to the structure. A grammar lesson is followed up with speaking and writing activities that demonstrate the item learned. I forgot to mention the three yers I taught in Symbiosis English language institute teaching intermediate and advanced speaking courses and training foreign nationals of corporates. After a very satisfying teaching career of 33 years, enjoying the reputation of an excellent teacher, I retired for personal reasons. However, I want to continue teaching a few hours daily, though online.
