Asaalamu aleikum
Am I teacher also a student based Cairo studying at Al Azhar University,stayed kenya for long by teaching the madrasah.
Of the methods I use depends on the person if he is adult or young .for a child he should be taken slowly whether by new area or the revision place he left.For adults one should give time to teach for example if he does one hour online with a teacher he should have like another 2 hours sitting alone by himself.everyday we going to do new part and also repeating the ones you passed that way one can became a hafiz of quran .sometimes we can also give extra time if person is serious by me (the teacher) practicing with him.
I also saw the result of this work through my students who I have taught and are now munition
