Hi! I am Teacher Malu. I am an enthusiastic ESL teacher who makes learning fun and meaningful. I create a safe space for my non-native English students to take risks in using the target language. I allow my students to think in their native language but encourage them to express themselves in the target language no matter how difficult. As much as possible, I utilize culturally-inclusive learning materials to keep my students motivated to learn. I have a postgraduate diploma in TESOL from the Regional Language Center Singapore and a certificate in ESL from the American TESOL Organization. As a lover of films, I often utilize movies to teach grammar concepts and to practice communicative competence among my students. As your future teacher or tutor, it will be my goal to help you achieve fluency in the English Language.

    As a faculty, I teach the core and applied subjects in the Senior High School Curriculum.
  • College Faculty (May, 2005–Mar, 2016) at De La Salle University - Manila
    As a faculty member in the Department of English and Applied Linguistics, I teach Oral Communication and Public Speaking, Academic English, and Business Correspondence.
  • Classroom Teacher (Jan, 1994–Apr, 2003) at Saint Pedro Poveda College
    As a classroom teacher, I was designated as a homeroom adviser in the grade 7 level for 9 years. I handled the Reading and Language subjects in grades 5-7.
