I really care about my students and love teaching maths. I have 14 years experience of teaching all ages of students many of whom really struggled with mathematics but were able to turn things around and succeed. Many have said the strategies I use to teach e.g. Singapore bar modelling and ratio tables have resulted in them actually growing to enjoy maths for the first time in their lives. I am currently a Course Leader/Teacher in GCSE maths in the department that receives by far the best results in the college and achieved outstanding by Ofsted in a recent inspection. This year I will take phased retirement and go part-time as I want to end my career teaching 1:1 and in small groups at both Foundation and Higher levels. I have an abundance of excellent resources I will share with you and will give ongoing support via Google Chat to students completing assignments set and other independent work. Finally I specialise in mathematical problem solving which a large number of students at both levels find most challenging.
