AN EX-SOFTWARE ENGINEER TURNED MOTHER, PASSIONATE ABOUT EDUCATION AND PEDAGOGY. MATHEMATICS IS MY SPECIAL AREA OF INTEREST AND I HAVE UNDERGONE TRAINING WITH EDUCATORS FROM INTERNATIONAL ACADEMIES AS PART OF MY PGCTL (UK LEVEL 6 TEACHING QUALIFICATION).
I want to focus on Cambridge mathematics for grades 5, 6 & 7 and enable a strong foundation in mathematics so that they excel in secondary checkpoint and onwards in IGCSE. My mission is to enable every child to opt in for mathematics rather than being forced.
As a mother of a Cambridge school teen, often I have wondered that despite the sound curriculum offered by CIE, children struggle in grasping concepts or applying the learning when put under a timed test. Often, the fear/anxiety of facing a math test hampers the children’s scores. My pedagogy, combined with varied resources on offer for Cambridge mathematics intends to eliminate the fear/hate for math and make children comfortable to face math ‘problems’.
