My teaching style is to first help the student get his academic confidence back, many students struggle because they have lost their academic confidence.I do that by explaining work from first principles ( the basic of the basic), then start with asking questions of things he/she understands then increasing the standards, that way the student is able to grow and the belief he can answer high order questions . Also my patience is one of my key factors of being a successful tutor, I have been able to help many students get A's because of being patient with them and trusting the process.
