As a student of Literature and Language, I have come to realize that it is in some ways a science as well as art. The words, phrases, and expressions we employ speak a great deal about us, even in academic writing. Thus, I delve into the structure, history, and possibilities of the content, particularly literature, to provide my student with understanding that is not only centered around exam preparation but also adds to their critical skill set. I take miniature steps to perfect each component with practice before moving ahead.
The resources which I use aren't traditional worksheets but an amalgam of digital activities, videos, reading, and writing that evokes the critical abilities of the student. I believe in inquiry based learning- a series of questions that make the child explore more. I allow creative space to my students even with writing. From film commentary to social media post analysis. I value the opinions of my students and believe in conversation based learning rather than one-sided lectures.
My focus is the enjoyable learning the kid experiences alongside test preparation. That is a human element of learning that the modern, AI driven world is losing out on.
With presentation documents, course packs, and rigirous practice sessions, I try to steer ships across.
