CORPORATE EXPERIENCE Irene spent 23 years in Richemont Luxury (S) Pte Ltd, a Swiss conglomerate dealing in high end luxury products. It was a rare opportunity to start with a new incorporation making its presence here. Started as the Chief Accountant in the newly incorporated organization and then rose to General Manager. The final position held in the last 3 to 4 years was that of Finance Director. Back then, the company grew from 2 brands to more than 10 brands, from 20+ to 200+ employees. Every brand acquisition was an exciting event dealing with personnel, placements, trainings, systems, inventory, valuation, legalities, brand image, space planning, security, policies. Under Irene’s co-ordination efforts, each and every of these events were dealt with such conscientious and exact accuracy that the integration were always seamlessly successful. Numbers were like “play-doh” to Irene, effortlessly “massaging” the budgets to enable projects to materialize even during challenging global financial upheavals. Her scope was wide spread covering all the back-bone functions requiring much blending and co-ordination among the Brands’ Heads and Support Functions.
TRAINING / SPEAKER / ASSESSOR EXPERIENCE Soon after Irene attained her professional accountancy qualifications in 1986, she embarked on part-time lecturing with SSA/ICPAS for ACCA programs. In 1993, she joined Blue Harvest as a training consultant and conducted trainings for both corporate in-house and public runs on subjects such as Activity-Based Costing, Understanding Financial Statements, just to name a few. In April 2015, Irene took on trainings/facilitations for adult learning with several WSQ frameworks including ICDL, Employability/Problem Solving workshops. Intermittently, she has also conducted customized workshops for companies. Between 2016 and 2018, Irene assumed the Assessor role for the WSQ Professional Diploma for Leadership and People Management.
COACHING JOURNEY Irene first came across coaching in late 2015 under PPP (Professional Placement Program), funded by WDA. This has led her to discover an untapped talent and passion of hers to make a difference in someone’s life. With that discovery, Irene found her new career direction and went on to pursue a full fledged professional certification in coaching. In 2018, her exemplary leadership ability earned her the title of Master Coach, where she began to train and mentor fellow associate coaches. Self-awareness, her “pet” topic, has helped many of her clients to truly discover themselves and move on in life. She pays keen attention to her clients and helps them explore their hidden potentials and new career possibilities they may not have considered before. Her clients regard her as an inspiration to excel both at work and in life. The profiles of her coaching clients included Director of Global Govt Affairs & Policies in APAC, Group GM (manufacturing), Marketing & Regional Product Manager (China), Global Retail & Sales Capabilitiy Manager (retail, FMCG), Principal Employability Coach (e2i).
