My name is Dr. O. Morebise. I hold a PhD degree in Biochemistry and a second doctorate degree (EdD) in Educational Leadership & Management. I have been teaching biochemistry to medical and other allied health science students for about 30 years. I have taught in different countries, including Nigeria, Aruba, St. Vincent and Dominica. I currently teach in a Caribbean medical school located in Dominica where students come from North America, Europe, Asia, Africa and the Caribbean to study Medicine or Nursing.
My teaching approach makes biochemistry easy for students to grasp; this has helped the students to successfully pass both their internal and external examinations, including the NBME and USMLE-Step1.
I teach every aspect of medical biochemistry, including protein structure and function, carbohydrate and lipid metabolism, nitrogen metabolism, integration of metabolism, nutritional biochemistry, DNA, RNA and protein structure/synthesis, and genetic engineering techniques.
I use different instructional approaches to engage student; the teaching sessions are student-centered. The various biochemical pathways with their regulation and associated disorders are explicitly explained in a way to make it easy for students to understand.
I also wish to add that I can tutor secondary school students for O' Level Biology and Organic Chemistry.
