My main aim as a tutor in creative writing is building confidence in my students, teaching them to trust their creative instincts. I view writing as an art form, and encourage students to view 'rules' as guidelines that can be broken. Each writer is unique, and I not only tailor my lessons to what the student needs to improve on, but what they want out of writing - whether they want to become an author or simply enjoy writing short stories as a hobby, we can build skills that will help them in their goals.

In my sessions, I present my students with exercises to look at, working on a specific facet of writing; we might create a new character, or practice dialogue, or consider story structure. I often give them some sort of prompt or exercise that they can work on in their free time, which I will look over and help them identify what works and what doesn't. Additionally, if they have a larger project they are working on, such as a book, I can advise on this, acting as a proof-reader and helping them make their ideas a reality.

Contact me to discuss pricing and availability. I primarily teach KS2 and KS3. My lessons are online: I am able to do Teams, Zoom and Skype, but if there is another platform you would like to use please let me know.
