Position Overview
Position : Lecturer in Quran Teaching Location : Dar e Arqam School Bahawalpur, Pakistan : Department of Islamic Studies Reporting to : Head of Department
Key Responsibilities
1. Curriculum Development:
• Teach and develop comprehensive Quran teaching curricula that align with the us College to academic standards and objectives.
• Incorporate innovative teaching methodologies, instructional materials, and assessment tools to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
2. Course Delivery:
• Conduct lectures, seminars, and workshops on various aspects of the Quran, including Tafsir, Tajweed, and Quranic studies.
• Foster a supportive and interactive learning environment that encourages critical thinking, inquiry, and respectful discussion among students.
3. Student Engagement and Support:
• Provide academic guidance, mentorship, and support to students to facilitate their personal and professional development.
• Evaluate student performance, provide constructive feedback, and implement strategies to address individual learning needs and challenges.
4. Research and Scholarship:
• Engage in scholarly research, publications, and presentations to contribute to the field of Quranic studies and Islamic education.
• Stay abreast of current trends, developments, and advancements in Quranic studies to enhance teaching effectiveness and relevance.
5. Collaboration and Professional Development:
• Collaborate with colleagues, departmental teams, and university committees to promote interdisciplinary learning, research, and community engagement.
• Participate in professional development activities, workshops, and conferences to continuously update and enhance teaching skills, subject knowledge, and pedagogical practices.
6. Community Engagement and Outreach:
• Engage with local communities, mosques, schools, and educational institutions to promote Quranic literacy, Islamic values, and cultural understanding.
• Organize and participate in community service, outreach programs, and educational initiatives to foster positive relationships and enhance the university's reputation and impact.
Qualifications and Experience
• Education: Bachelor's degree from The Islamia University of Bahawalpur or a recognized institution in Islamic Studies, Quranic Sciences, or related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 4 years of teaching experience in Quranic studies, Islamic education, or related field, preferably at reputable institutions such as Dar e Arqam School.
• Skills and Competencies:
• Profound knowledge and understanding of the Quran, Hadith, Islamic jurisprudence, and Islamic history.
• Strong pedagogical skills, including curriculum development, course delivery, and student assessment.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse academic environment and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning community.
• Proficiency in English and Urdu languages; knowledge of Arabic is an asset.
