Allaah Azza wa Jalla has made the Recitation of the Qur’an mandatory on every sane,matured and reasonable Muslim as one's level in Jannah will be determined by what you are able to recite from the Qur’an off-hand on the day of judgment, May Allaah count us among the successful.
Also,Allaah said in the Qur’an "Unquestionably in the remembrance of Allaah do hearts find tranquility " so if you are looking for peace, serenity and tranquility, make the book of Allaah (Al-Qur'an)your companion.
Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)said 'The best of you is the one who learns(memorizes)the Qur’an and teaches it '.
