Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, based on assessments, student goals, and state standards.
Provide direct instruction to students with special needs, adapting teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
Collaborate with general education teachers to differentiate instruction and modify curriculum to meet the needs of students with disabilities in inclusive classrooms.
Lead and participate in IEP team meetings, facilitating collaboration among parents, teachers, administrators, and support staff to develop and review student goals and progress.
Supervise and support special education paraprofessionals, providing guidance on instructional strategies, behavior management techniques, and individual student needs.
Monitor and assess student progress through ongoing observation, formal assessments, and data collection, adjusting instructional strategies and goals as needed to promote student growth.
Provide training and professional development opportunities for general education teachers and school staff on best practices in special education, inclusion, and working with students with disabilities.
Collaborate with school administrators and support personnel to ensure compliance with special education laws, regulations, and procedures, including the provision of accommodations and modifications as outlined in students' IEPs.
Serve as a liaison between school staff, parents, and outside agencies or service providers involved in supporting students with disabilities, advocating for students' needs and coordinating services as necessary.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, IEPs, and related documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.
