The Part-Time MBBS Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality educational content and facilitating learning experiences for university-level medical students pursuing their Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree. This position requires expertise in medical subjects, effective communication skills, and a passion for teaching and mentoring aspiring medical professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct lectures, seminars, and tutorials on various medical topics in accordance with the university curriculum and academic standards.
Prepare and deliver engaging and informative presentations, incorporating multimedia resources, case studies, and real-life examples to enhance student understanding.
Develop course materials, including lecture notes, handouts, assignments, and assessments, to support student learning objectives and academic progression.
Provide individualized academic support and guidance to students, including clarifying concepts, addressing questions, and offering feedback on assignments and assessments.
Foster an interactive and collaborative learning environment conducive to student engagement, critical thinking, and knowledge retention.
Utilize technology and online learning platforms effectively to facilitate remote learning and enhance accessibility to educational resources.
Stay abreast of advancements and developments in the field of medicine and incorporate relevant updates into teaching materials and methodologies.
Collaborate with fellow faculty members and academic staff to ensure consistency in curriculum delivery, assessment methods, and academic policies.
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development workshops, and ongoing training sessions to enhance teaching skills and contribute to academic program improvements.
Adhere to university policies, ethical guidelines, and professional standards in all aspects of teaching, assessment, and student interaction.
Qualifications and Requirements fulfilled:
Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from the esteemed University of Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Teaching experience in medical education settings, preferably at the university level.
Strong knowledge and expertise in medical subjects, including anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, pathology, and clinical medicine.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
Proficiency in instructional design, curriculum development, and educational technology tools.
Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment and promoting student success and well-being.
Flexibility to adapt teaching methods and approaches to accommodate varying learning styles and preferences.
