I am currently doing my postdoctoral research at ETH Zurich, Switzerland. I did my Masters and PhD from IIT Madras. I started teaching after finishing my bachelor's degree. Also, I was a teaching assistant during my master's at IITM, where I taught basic physical chemistry. I am currently looking for students to help with their chemistry. I prefer to teach students pursuing their higher secondary or bachelors but students with any levels are also welcome. I can also prepare students for competitive exams such as Jee. I believe in active and team-based learning that makes online classes more interactive and innovative. The strategies I would follow are focusing on practical learning rather than rote learning, making room for open-ended questions and discussion, creating a place where all the learners can fit in, developing problem-finding and problem-solving skills in students, and teaching them to take risks and learn from failures. In this digital era, technology-enhanced teaching is one of the most important avenues to equip students with new-age technology skills. Multimedia presentations and video lectures are great teaching innovations. Finally, self-evaluation is necessary.
I look forward to finding new teaching methods that help students push their knowledge beyond their limits. Even outside the boundary of the classroom. For them, learning should be a passion, not just a job.
