While I was pursuing my engineering, I had the privilege of working for an NGO "Make A Difference." Here, I had the opportunity to teach students of class 5-12 in ashrams, which happened every weekend. It wasn't just about teaching from textbooks; it was about preparing these children to face the world with confidence. Heading a team in Mysuru, I led the groundbreaking Foundational Skill Development program, focusing on essential skills from phonics to forming sentences in the English language which seemed a nightmare to kids.
My commitment involved helping Class 10 students who had struggled to pass their SSLC board exams for three consecutive years. My ambition was to uplift their spirits and ensure they succeeded despite past setbacks. I took on the role of providing personalized tuitions to these students three months before their exams. Within this relatively short timeframe, I had to devise effective teaching strategies, identify and address each student's individual learning needs, and provide them with the guidance and support they required to excel in their exams. Notably, among the 11 students I worked with, three had previously failed their SSLC exams for three consecutive years. My goal was clear: to help all students complete this crucial step in their education with flying colors. I believed that success in these exams would not only open doors for further studies but also lay the foundation for a brighter future, enabling them to become valuable assets for our country in the long run. While there were challenges, such as dealing with irregular attendance, I am proud to say that 10 out of the 11 students, including the three who had previously failed, achieved remarkable results. Their scores exceeded 60%, with two students even surpassing 80%. These outcomes reflect the impact of dedicated effort and personalized support on student success.
I now give home tuitions for children of class 5-12 in my hometown. I have 20 students under me, out of them 18 students are from ICSE board and 2 from karnataka state board. I teach all the subjects including languages.
