Hi there!

My name is Reshma and I am currently based in Hong Kong. I tutor elementary to secondary students in Hong Kong. My role requires to pay close attention to my students' overall progress in English which can sometimes be quite hectic, but it is definitely a fruitful experience especially when you get to witness their development.

I think English can be learned in many ways. Sometimes culturally, people tend to only focus on the technicalities of English language such as memorising the rules of grammar. However, I really do think that English like any other languages has its own personality and to truly learn English and to be fluent in it, one has to be able to grasp the sense of the language. I also think that languages are always evolving. In different parts of the world, English is spoken in many different manners. And throughout history, English has drastically changed. People in the modern days do not speak in English like how people spoke during the colonial times.

English is more than just learning its technicalities. It is about finding your voice in any languages that you wish to learn. And to do that, you will need to challenge yourself by being exposed to different kinds of literary texts, learn to analyse the texts with your perspectives, and executing that in written and in spoken manner. Learning English can be fun.
