Hello! I’m a dedicated and experienced educator with a passion for helping students achieve their academic goals. With over eight years of teaching experience, I specialize in a range of subjects, including ESL, O-Level Biology, O-Level English, and core elementary school subjects such as Math and Science.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health and recently completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Education, further honing my teaching skills. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with students from diverse backgrounds, including those with no prior knowledge of English. My experience spans from teaching young learners in elementary school to tutoring older students preparing for O-Level exams.
In my ESL classes, I focus on creating engaging, student-centered lessons that cater to different learning styles. I believe in making learning fun and interactive, ensuring that my students not only improve their language skills but also gain confidence in using English in everyday situations.
For O-Level Biology and English, I take a comprehensive approach, breaking down complex concepts into manageable parts, making sure that each student understands the material fully. My goal is to prepare students not just for their exams, but to help them develop a deep understanding of the subjects that will serve them well in their future studies.
In my experience, consistent feedback and open communication are key to student success. I work closely with my students to identify their strengths and areas for improvement, setting clear, achievable goals to guide their progress. My students often see significant improvements in their language skills, academic performance, and confidence.
What sets me apart as a teacher is my genuine commitment to my students' success. I understand the challenges of learning a new language and mastering complex subjects because I’ve been there myself. My own journey of overcoming language barriers and excelling in academics drives me to be patient, encouraging, and persistent with my students.

Experience

  • Grade 3 Teacher (Apr, 2024–Aug, 2024) at Musikili Primary School, Mazabuka
    At Musikili Primary School, I took on a comprehensive teaching role where I created worksheets and workbooks specifically tailored to meet the needs of my students and align with the curriculum. My responsibilities included marking books, detailed lesson planning, and preparing tests and assessments to gauge student progress. I also closely monitored reading development, ensuring each child received the support they needed to thrive. Beyond the classroom, I was actively involved in extracurricular activities, particularly coaching ball skills and soccer for Grades R-3.
  • Manager and Teacher (Nov, 2022–Present) at Tinti Trust School, Lusaka
    At Tinti Trust School, I take on a dual role as both School Manager and Teacher, where I manage the school’s public relations and advertising efforts to enhance our image within the community. I successfully chair staff meetings to ensure clear communication and a collaborative environment. Additionally, I oversee the purchasing and supply of school materials and uniforms, and I play a key role in staff recruitment and maintaining positive employee relations. I also manage the enrollment process for new students, ensuring a smooth transition into our school community. As a teacher, I lead African Music and Recorder classes, nurturing students' creativity and love for the arts. I also stepped in to assist with classes when needed, and I taught a Grade 6 class for a term, as well as Reception and Grade One classes, where I focused on creating a nurturing and supportive learning environment for young learners. I am also in charge of the reading club and library.

    At Verbit, I worked as a Reviewer from December 2020 to December 2022, where I was responsible for maintaining the quality and accuracy of transcribed files. I actively edited files that needed improvement, ensuring that content and presentation were up to the highest standards. Additionally, I provided constructive feedback to editors, helping them develop their skills and enhance overall output quality. Before becoming a Reviewer, I worked as an Editor from July 2020 to December 2020, where I proofread and edited files processed by Automatic Speech Recognition software. My role involved conducting thorough research on names, terms, and spellings to guarantee the accuracy and reliability of the transcriptions. These were both online roles.

    As a Freelance Online ESL Teacher since March 2020, I have developed and implemented comprehensive lesson plans tailored to accommodate various learning styles, ensuring each student receives a personalized learning experience. I have also sourced and created engaging materials to enhance the learning environment, making lessons both interactive and effective. In addition to setting and grading assignments and assessments, I provide consistent feedback to track and encourage student progress, fostering continuous improvement in their English language skills.
